Fotona Starwalker MAQX Laser is built with two unique laser technologies which is PICO and NANO.
Pico Lasers utilize photoacoustic mechanisms to break down pigment particles into tiny, dust-like particles. While Q-switched laser, refer to nanoseconds pulses generated by laser procedure that utilize photothermal action transferring heat to pigments and surrounding tissues to break down unwanted pigments.
The combination of both unique technologies make Fotona Starwalker MAQX an effective and more popular choice for tattoo removal and eliminating stubborn pigments.
Pre-Treatment Precaution
Patients are advised to discontinue any topical skin brightening products, products containing retinol, retinoid or hydroquinone at least 1 week prior to receiving treatment. Patients should also ensure adequate sun protection 1 week prior to treatment as photodamaged skin increases the chances of complications after treatment.
Treatment Expectation
Immediate Result
After undergoing the Pico Laser treatment, patients may notice immediate brightening and glowing of the skin. However, it’s important to note that these immediate results are just the beginning of the process.
After 2-3 days
3-5 days post treatment, scabs will form over the treated areas ( pigmentation / tattoo area) which will eventually peel off after a week post treatment. Within a few weeks after treatment, one can often notice improvement in pigmentation, texture, and the overall appearance of the skin.
Patient can also expect brighter skin complexion and improvement in overall skin tone.
Long term result

Post Treatment Care
Post treatment, patients are urged to apply moisturizer twice daily and ensure adequate sun protection for speedy recovery and to reduce side effects or risk of hyperpigmentation.
Take good care of your skin for at least a week before gradually resuming your regime.
